There’s something extra special about an engagement session that feels like you. For Alyssa and Kyle, that meant heading to High Cliff State Park for a beautiful, laid-back engagement session surrounded by nature, their two dogs, Winnie and Guinness, and plenty of time near the water.

It was a cooler day, but that didn’t stop these two from having fun and soaking in every moment together. In fact, the cooler weather gave their High Cliff State Park engagement photos such a cozy, natural feeling — and having Winnie and Guinness along made the session even more meaningful.

An Engagement Session by the Water

Alyssa and Kyle both love being around the water, so High Cliff State Park was such a fitting location for their engagement photography session. With its beautiful views of Lake Winnebago, wooded trails, limestone cliffs, and shoreline, High Cliff offers so many different backdrops for engagement photos.

We spent time exploring the park, capturing the two of them simply enjoying each other, laughing, walking, and being themselves. Those in-between moments are some of my favorites to photograph because they don't feel posed — they feel like them.

And, of course, no engagement session would be complete without Winnie and Guinness!

Including Your Dogs in Your Engagement Photos

If your dogs are part of your family, I am 100% here for bringing them along for your engagement session. Winnie and Guinness added so much personality to Alyssa and Kyle's photos and made the session feel even more personal.
